Airing Your {dirty} Laundry
Did you know that conventional laundry soap is a leading cause of skin allergies and irritation - especially in children? We don’t often think about it, but the residues left on clothes and linens from conventional cleaners sit on our skin, often causing low-level irritation. Not to mention the chemical load that leaves over time! Even the ‘green’ options may contain hidden sulfates, dyes and fragrance, among other things!

The simplest way to get the job done—check the labels. Even those "green" or "sensitive" laundry soaps sneak unwelcome ingredients into their formulas. Yuck! Just because it’s “free and clear” and you don’t smell fragrances, there can still be many.

Fragrances added to laundry detergents and fabric softeners, may cause acute effects such as respiratory irritation, headache, sneezing, and watery eyes in sensitive individuals or allergy and asthma sufferers. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has found that one- third of the substances used in the fragrance industry are toxic. But because the chemical formulas of fragrances are considered trade secrets, companies aren’t required to list their ingredients but merely label them as containing “fragrance.”

Here is a video with more info about that "f word".

Once you have stopped using your old laundry detergent for even a month and you go back and try to breathe that stuff or anything that’s been washed in it, you will thank me. Seriously, once I stopped using the detergent I THOUGHT was clean and started using a truly natural product, when I get a whiff of the other stuff I immediately get a reaction.

Even though it was hard to break away from the detergent I had used for years, I knew that switching to Thieves Laundry Soap was right for me. Ask yourself, “isn't my health & my family worth at least TRYING this out for a little while?” I know you can make the commitment.
